QB CHRISTMAS LEARN TO PLAY “SILENT NIGHT” EASY PEASY

OVER 1 BILLION PEOPLE KNOW THIS CHRISTIAN HYMN.

INTRODUCTION

In this post I am using a traditional Christmas song, “Silent Night”, to demonstrate, learn and   teach the four ways to learn music on the the virtual QB:  traditional notation, scale numbers, x/y coordinates, and QGRID locators.  Melody and harmony will be presented as:

TRADITIONAL NOTATION WITH QB X/Y LOCATORS, USING THE VIRTUAL QB.

(By adding the QB x/y locator next to a note, its exact relationship to the grand staff is properly presented.)

QGRID TAB–C MAJOR SCALE,

(This is a more visual approach-like guitar tablature.)

SCALE NUMBERS,

(This relates to the key and scale of the piece being learned.)

QGRID PATTERN NUMBERS ABOVE THE LYRICS.

(Some melodies are familiar enough that only the lyrics+scale number are needed by the student.)

“SILENT NIGHT” lesson #1 will be posted on 12/01/20.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
